Rachel Meyer

My philosophy on teaching art is that every piece of art does not need a deep meaning or reason behind its creation.  I believe students learn best when they have freedom of choice, where they can choose whether to make an emotional piece or just like creating art for the sake of art.  My role as an educator is to help students understand their intentions behind making art and that it is ok to have unclear reasoning behind making artwork.  My goal for the students is to feel comfortable about their work and not feel pressured to create deep meanings when there is none behind the piece.
